The iconic Battersea Power Station underwent a significant transformation to become a modern, sustainable development.

My Role:

As Managing Director of Vital Energi, I was responsible for delivering the energy solution for this landmark project.

Challenges:

Integrating a contemporary energy system within a historic structure while meeting the energy demands of a 42-acre mixed-use site.

Solutions:

Under my leadership, the team designed and constructed a 73,000 sq ft energy centre featuring a district heating and cooling network. The system includes combined heat and power (CHP) engines, gas-fired boilers, thermal stores, and chillers, providing heating, cooling, and electricity to the entire development.

Results:

The project achieved a reduction of 5,000 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, equivalent to removing up to 1,000 cars from the road each year.
